We welcome that we reached an agreement with the staff delegation and unions on a social plan for employees of RTL Group S.A. during the conciliation process.
Today, management informed the employees about the next steps in the process and presented the social plan.
Since the launch of the conciliation process, we have taken into account the feedback from our employees and we have developed our very fair and generous social plan.
At the same time, we have reduced the planned number of redundancies among the 111 RTL Group S.A. employees.
Those 39 employees offered a position in Cologne will have five weeks after receiving their offer to decide whether or not they wish to relocate. Most of the employees accepting such an offer will be expected to start work in Cologne during the first quarter of 2020.
RTL Group S.A. is and will remain incorporated in Luxembourg. Even after the redundancies, RTL Group will continue to have more than 600 employees in Luxembourg (mainly at RTL Luxembourg and our technical service provider BCE). In addition, new jobs are to be created at RTL City in Luxembourg, for example at Majorel, the joint venture between Bertelsmann and Saham Group.
